Easytime laundry manager1/7/2024 I would hear people partying outside until late at night, garbage truck crushing all the glass bottles early in the morning (around 5 am). Downside of this is it is stupid loud at times. They're also refusing to give us refund for the last term amidst the COVID-19 outbreak even though most of us don't even live there anymore. (it's almost as expensive as a Vita Student accommodation and at Vita you get breakfast, a huge common room and even a gym on site, the rooms are bigger too!) There is a common room which is pretty cozy but doesn't give you anything extra, there is no cleaning inside the flats, you don't even get breakfast, so I literally have no idea what we're paying for. It's called "the view" but you have to be very lucky to actually get a flat with a "view", in most cases you'll stare at the Business School all the time (and from real close, you literally can see what they're doing on lectures) and you can only see Liberty Plaza from your kitchen. This place is the worst accommodation amongst the Newcastle uni ones (and I visited quite a few) which is a joke considering it is also the most expensive. Overall though, still a great accommodation, but possibly too expensive for how many issues have arisen. Not only did this delay when I could start my exam, it coincided with a no hot water day, which made for an unnecessary amount of stress. Right on the morning of one of my exams the wifi stopped working and I couldn’t access my exam. For how much the accommodation costs, you would’ve thought that they’d be more proactive in solving these problems. This year the boiler had frequent problems, resulting in days of no hot water and freezing cold showers. ![]() However, the wifi and water isn’t always as good as it should be. The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable, and the en-suite is a good size too. Everything you could want is in walking distance the Tesco express at the bottom of the building is so convenient. The bedrooms and bathrooms are modern, with good under bed storage, however you may want to bring extra bathroom storage.Ĭlose to both the centre of the city and the university campus, one of the best things about this accommodation is the location. The flats have good views of the city, same with the bedrooms of adjacent to Heber street, however some flats face views of the business school. I believe the common room closes at 5pm which isn’t always convenient with uni during the day. The common room has a TV, pool table and good entertainment, however due to the pandemic I wasn’t able to experience its full uses. The facilities are good with in-building laundry and bin storage, although recycling availability is limited and lots of recyclable products are scrapped in general waste. ![]() The staff are so helpful, especially Lauren at reception, always engaging with residents, doing giveaways and managing any maintenance issues. The View has the best location for Newcastle student halls in the city centre, being only a 5 minute walk away from Eldon Square, pubs/clubs and had a Tesco Express in the building. The studios are open to anyone and are perfect for those looking for more independent living. ![]() Each flat has a shared kitchen and living space which is great for those looking for a social atmosphere. The ensuite rooms in shared apartments are reserved for first-year students at Newcastle University. For added convenience, there is on-site laundry, cycle storage, 24/7 on-site security, CCTV security, contents insurance and all-inclusive bills.Īll rooms at The View are fully furnished with high-quality fixtures and fittings. There is a common room and games room that you can hang out in with flatmates or if you are needing to get some work done, you can make use of the study zones and free WiFi. Inside the building, you can find a range of handy amenities and facilities designed to make you feel right at home. There is a conveniently located Tesco Express on the ground floor for those last-minute necessities and students at The View benefit from being right next to the city centre and parks. The View offers fantastic city-centre accommodation for students in Newcastle, ideally situated within close proximity to Newcastle University.
