Declutter clothes1/6/2024 ![]() We had really good fun and at the end we had three different piles of clothes, one for charity, one for alterations and the other pile neatly put away in my wardrobe colour coded. Laura was really patient but incredibly focussed on getting the clothes into order. When we first started I thought we would never get through the huge pile of clothes, but Laura focussed on tops, dresses, knitwear and we soon got through the lot. On the day Laura brought a very large clothes rail with 3 sections, ditchers, fixers and keepers and we began sorting my piles of clothes into each of the sections with Laura getting me to try individual items so she could see how they fit. The de-cluttering process started with me filling in a questionnaire that Laura provided which highlighted my 5 favourite items of clothing from my three full wardrobes of clothes. ![]() I told Laura of my dilemma of finding the best way to de-clutter and focus my wardrobe and she volunteered to help. Then one day as I was out and about in Leeds I bumped into Laura who told me about her new venture as a Personal Stylist. Over time Laura would proactively note pieces that she felt would suit me and fitted with my personal style. Being a passionate follower of fashion I have shopped in Leeds, Manchester and York and met Laura as she worked for a number of fashion outlets that I used to visit. ![]() Finally the time came to do something about it I and found it a daunting task as I was not sure of the best way to de-clutter my wardrobe whilst keeping the right number of pieces for work, pleasure and special occasions. Naturally I am a bit of a hoarder (especially with clothes) and as time passed it became more and more difficult to find the perfect item for a special occasion or the right item for work or a night out even though I had a large and varied wardrobe. Over the years I have gradually expanded my personal and work wardrobe, collecting lots of favourite items over the seasons and the years. Please see my Personal Shopping page for further details. I usually advise following up a wardrobe declutter session with a Personal Shopping trip so we can find those missing pieces together to complete your wardrobe.
